For me, photo-editing is a two step process. First, I edit the photos in Lightroom, where I make global changes to one photo and "sync" them with the rest of the images. Then, I take the photos into Photoshop, where I airbrush the skin, minimize wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes, remove blemishes, sharpen and brighten the photo, add a warm/fuzzy glow, and so on. I can even switch heads from photo to photo.
