Here are a few photos of my friends Melanie Silverman and Maryann Minck, we took a trip to the Farmer’s Market to get some photos for their new website. Melanie is a nutrionist and Maryann is a private chef, their teaming up to lead workshops on nutrition and healthy eating….
A few photos of Camille, she’s becoming quite the fashionista. She insists on dressing herself and will wear a shirt on the top AND bottom. Here she is w/ underpants on over her jeans and a plastic painting smock. She loves that smock, she wears it all the time. Such a precious little thing.
For me, photo-editing is a two step process. First, I edit the photos in Lightroom, where I make global changes to one photo and “sync” them with the rest of the images. Then, I take the photos into Phososhop, where I airbrush the skin, minimize wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes, remove blemishes, sharpen and brighten the photo, add a warm/fuzzy glow, and so on. I can even switch heads from photo to photo.
Here’s a slideshow of photos showing before and after photo-editing “to perfection”.
I’m realizing that I really like the whole studio thing. If I could just convince my husband to let me tear out the wall between the garage and the courtyard and put in two pairs of french doors, and then switch out the garage door for something more civilized, I’d be set. Someday soon, I hope…
Anyway, I’ve been working with this fabulous Dr. Jennifer Johnson, who specializes in adolescent medicine in Newport Beach, and we took some shots of my kids with her teenager, suggesting how frustrating it is for teenagers to be seen by a little kid doctor. Had to morph two photos together to get them all in the same shot, but could you even tell? So fun, and I love the white paper background.

I offered a Mother’s Day special this year, and these boys’ father took advantage of it in order to give his wife a Mother’s Day Surprise she’d never forget!
It was a lot of fun taking photos of these boys! They were amazingly fun and sweet. But I think the best part of the experience was creating a DVD slideshow of our favorite photos from the shoot. Definitely the cherry on top, and something I hope to do a lot more of in the future. You can watch the slideshow down below, or check out my new YouTube page. They chose one of the boys’ favorite songs to go with the slideshow, something fun and a little bit crazy to capture their youthful energy.
I had so much fun with my Valentine’s Day-themed special this year! Took a lot of great photos in front of my beautiful new Drop It Modern backdrops. Love them.
